What They SAID
vs What They MEANT to Say

For International Women’s Day in the spring of 2019, we (the creative team at T&P) wanted to highlight some of the outrageous words used to describe bad-ass women who are relentless in their pursuits. The word often used for their male counterpart, willing to take the same risks: ambitious.

Ambitious Women’s Bingo was the winning idea, creating a bingo board—in print, digital and mail-out formats—littered with examples of these words. Women were encouraged to fill out words they’ve heard before. The more you’ve heard… well, sounds like you are winning, and they mad.

I took on the art direction of this project as well as all the design featured on this page.

Ultimately…

Like almost all the projects during my internship, this puppy never ran (does that mean I suck at this?). Never made it out of the office for that matter. Yet it was my first experience working on a time sensitive and socially relevant campaign that I believed in and thought could inspire people.

That made it very worth the effort.

This type of work sparked an intrigue and desire to make more like it, to make stuff that matters and connects to a greater idea. This side of advertising I truly admire, and I am grateful to those mentors who encourage and practice it.

The most eye catching digital banner that never was…
